Velebit is the longest, largest and most beautiful Croatian mountain range, the beauty and diversity of which will thrill you. Although many people have already taken the numerous marked hiking trails, Velebit definitely still has a few surprises up its sleeve. Mountain climbers, nature lovers, scientists, poets, actors, adventure seekers and many others have flocked to Velebit’s numerous trails. 

“Vrata Velebita (Door to Velebit) is an ethno-village located 300 m above sea level, in the heart of the Velebit Mountains, 3.5 km from the town of Tribanj – Kruščica. Marked hiking trails will take you to the Stapina and Stap cliffs, to Kamena galerija and Reljina peć. Try lamb cooked according to the recipes used by our grandmothers and do not forget to have a taste of the specifically flavoured goat milk and honey from the region.

Spring and summer are the best times to go rafting and on adventurous kayak and canoe rides on the Zrmanja and Krupa rivers. 
The meandering of the Zrmanja and Krupa karst rivers through deep canyons towards magnificent cascades is guaranteed to be an impressive experience. Kayaks and canoes are safe and easy to manoeuvre in white water, and all you need is some enthusiasm and the ability to swim. Listen to the instructions from your skipper and go on a fun adventure!
